Ingredients
One 6.2 oz. package Farmhouse® White Cheddar Pasta
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
8 oz. smoked sausage, diced into 1/4-inch pieces
1-3/4 cups water
2-3/4 cups milk
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- In medium saucepan, heat butter or margarine. Add onion, red bell pepper and garlic. Cook until onion and red bell pepper are soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add sausage and cook 3 to 4 minutes. Add pasta, contents of seasoning packet, water and milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and low boil for 18 minutes, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender.
- Stir in cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
