Noodles with Sausage and Asparagus in Tomato Cream

Serves 4

Ingredients

One 4.9 oz. package Farmhouse Parmesan Pasta
1/2 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-1/3 cups water
2/3 cup milk
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups, 1-inch length, asparagus
2 Tablespoons slivered fresh basil leaves
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, brown sausage; drain off fat.
  2. Add garlic, water, milk, butter or margarine, pasta and contents of seasoning packet; bring just to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Add asparagus and continue to simmer 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Stir in basil, tomato paste and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Before serving, top with Parmesan cheese.
